Lepsky V. Prevention of dental caries in children of primary school age using "onium" hexafluorosilicates

It is shown experimentally, that the use in the developed gels of hexafluorosilicate preparations containing a small amount of fluorine and having low toxicity, forming during the hydrolysis the catalysts for the formation of fluoropatite in the enamel of the teeth, possessing antibacterial action, allowed to significantly improve the biochemical parameters of the teeth pulp, its mineralizing ability and to obtain a caries prophylactic efficacy of 80%, exceeding the corresponding indices for preparations with NaF in the cariogenic diet. The preventive complex, including cetyl pyridinium hexafluorosilicate, made it possible to obtain 47.1% reduction in caries in 2 years of observation, to increase the activity of lysozyme, catalase, antioxidant-prooxidant index in children, the content of calcium and phosphorus and reduce the activity of urease, the degree of dysbiosis and content of malonic dialdehyde, increase the acid resistance and electrical conductivity of the teeth enamel, stabilize the pH of the oral liquid, normalize the charge state of the buccal epithelium cells.
