Essay

The object of research is the technological production processes unburnt mullite-corundum refractories using phosphate binders for lining of lime-kilns. Methods - modern methods of research of multicomponent systems, a complex of physic-chemical methods of analysis. The theoretical and practical results - the structure of the Al2O3-SiO2-CaO-P2O5 system in the illumination section, the optimum area of compositions suitable for the fabrication of the refractories from mullite corundum were determined. Resource-saving technology for producing mullite corundum refractories has been developed; physical, mechanical and technical properties have been determined. Novelty - the previously unknown thermodynamic constants of the Al2O3-SiO2-CaO-P2O5 system have been calculated; geometric-topological characteristics of the phases have been determined; it was proved the possibility of obtaining unburnt mullite corundum refractories based on Al2O3-SiO2-CaO-P2O5 system by theoretically and experimentally. The degree of implementation – the production of a pilot-industrial batch of refractories with high physical and mechanical properties at Druzhkovsky Refractory Co. was improved, the results of work were transferred for use by SRDIBCh for the development of initial data on the design and technical and commercial proposals for the production of lime by burning carbonate raw materials in lime furnaces, theoretical, technological and methodological development, are used in the educational process at the department of technology of ceramics, the refractories, glass and enamels of NTU "KhPI" in the study of disciplines "Physical chemistry of refractory non-metallic and silicate materials", "Chemical technology of refractories" and during course and diploma studies. Scope - enterprises of refractory industry in the production of refractory products for thermal units with a working temperature up to 1500 oC; as well as in higher educational institutions for the training of specialists in chemical technology TNSM - NTU "KhPI" (Kharkiv), UDKhTU (Dnipro), NMetAU (Dnipro), NTUU "KPI" (Kyiv), Lviv Polytechnic National University (Lviv).
