Krasko O. Sources of memoir character of the second half of the XX – early XXI centuries from the history of Kharkiv University

The object of the research: complex of sources of memoir character of the second half of the XX – early XXI centuries, the authorship of which belongs to pupils, teachers and staff of the Kharkiv University. The purpose of the research: conducting a systematic study of the attribution process and assessing the representativeness of a complex of sources of memoir character of the second half of the XX – early XXI centuries from the history of Kharkiv University. The methods: classification, analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction; source-study, textual and archaeological analysis and synthesis of memoir sources; historical-comparative, historical-typological and historical-genetic. Scientific novelty: the dissertation deals with a complex of sources of memoir character in the second half of the XX – early XXI centuries from the history of Kharkiv University; the paper determines the degree of the theme development and historiographic aspects of studying memoirs as a source, in particular, as a source of university history; theoretical and methodological approaches to study the memoirs have been characterized; the history of the publication of the collected sources has been dated and traced, the motives of the memoformation are determined; the author proposes the systematization of sources of the memoir character from the history of Kharkiv University in the second half of the XX century – early XXI century; a new genre in the university memoir is singled out – ‘memorial essay’; the sense and emotional load of memoirs sources are determined, their representativeness is estimated; the author proves the source study value of the complex of sources of memoir character in the second half of the XX – early XXI century from the history of Kharkiv University to study the history of the educational institution in Soviet times, determines the features of development of university memoirs and functioning of the mechanisms of university memory. Practical value of research: the materials of the research can be used in the preparation of special works on the history of Kharkiv University and the history of higher education in Ukraine, in the development of study programs and methodical manuals on the course "Fundamentals of Source Studies" and " Source Studies of History of Ukraine", in the preparation of lectures and special courses devoted to the history of Kharkiv University, in the exhibition, publishing-information and excursion activities of the Museum of History of the Karazin Kharkiv National University.
