Essay

Object of investigation: mechanisms of self-associates and hetero-associates formation of aromatic biologically active compounds and their binding to DNA and the contribution of the various types of intermolecular interactions and water environment to their stabilization. The aim of the work: to determine the structural features of self- and hetero-associates of biologically active compounds and their complexes with DNA and establish the role of hydrogen bonds and water molecules in the complexes stabilization. Methods of investigation: infrared spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, piezogravimetric method, quantum chemical calculation and Monte Carlo simulation. Scientific novelty: the data obtained on the formation of stable associates of aromatic compounds due to the formation of hydrogen bonds and water bridges. Practical meaning: application in biophysics, molecular biology and bioinformatics.
