Melnyk V. Legal regulation of organic agricultural production in Ukraine

The thesis is devoted to complex research of legal regulation of organic agricultural production in Ukraine. The definition «ecological agriculture», features and benefits of agricultural organic production are formulated. The definitions «legal principles of organic production» and «relationships on organic production» are identified and analyzed. Their classification is presented. The definition of «organic production» with the range of actors involved in it, and a set of rights and obligations are formulated. The right to organic production is identified as the main right in this field. The definition «management of organic production» is presented with description of the system of governmental agencies in the field of public administration over organic production in Ukraine. The definition «control over production of organic products (raw materials)» is given too. The system of governmental bodies and types (forms) of state control in the given field is also described. The comparative analysis is made about trends on the legal regulation of organic production in Ukraine, the European Union and the EU member-states. It is determined that the regulation of organic production combines the provisions of the legislation on health care, trade, environmental protection, humane treatment of animals and ethical issues. As a result, proposals for improving the legal regulation of organic agricultural production in Ukraine are formulated.
