Sviderska O. Correlation between Psychological and Institutional Determinants of Political Behaviour of the Masses in Transit Societies.

The PhD thesis states the interconnection of the main psychological and institutional determinants in the formation of political behavior in the societies of different types. This thesis is an attempt to provide research on virtual and simulative manifestations of political behavior, exemplified by astroturfing, flesh mobs, application, registration and signing the electronic petitions, virtual voting, spreading demotivators and media viruses. The research shows transformational changes of value and institutional system are the basis for formation of informal institutional principles of political behavior in transitional societies. The author has made an attempt to prove that the Revolution of Dignity is a manifestation of unconventional mass political behavior through armed conflicts with the Government, public buildings takeover, damage to public property etc.
