Essay

The main tendencies of musicological ideas about the genre of the piano suite in Western European and Ukrainian music are determined in the thesis. The main trends in the evolution of the piano suite in European music are revealed, and the genesis of the piano suite genre is reviewed. The intra-genre typology of the Ukrainian piano suite is defined, taking into account the phenomenon of programming. The musicological principles of suites as a type of artistic thinking are revealed contextually the problem of the genre of the suite in the music of the 20th century, taking into account the development of musical culture both in Ukraine and in other countries. The peculiarities of suites in contemporary Ukrainian music are explored. The compositional features of suite cycles are revealed with their subsequent generalization in the historical and musicological context. The leading aspects of the problem of thinking, side and properties of musical thinking are covered.
