Vatamaniuk N. Early diagnostics and preventive treatment of chronic generalized periodontitis on the pre-roentgenological stage of development

In order to increase the effectiveness of complex treatment through the use of scientifically grounded programs for the gradual application of professional hygienic measures, means of antibacterial action and immunocorrective therapy, 64 patients with chronic generalized catarrhal gingivitis and 32 patients with an initial stage of generalized periodontitis were examined and treated. It is revealed that in the etiological structure of chronic generalized catarrhal gingivitis the dominant place belongs to the conditionally pathogenic streptococcus and staphylococcus infection. The most common pathogens of the initial stage of chronic generalized periodontitis are major periodontal pathogenic bacteria. It is proved that the main pathogenetic links of the initial stage of generalized periodontitis are imbalance in the functioning of IL-1β, FNP-α and IL-4 cytokines, high IL-1β content against the background of increased markers of bone resorption β-Cross-Laps in the oral liquid. The developed method of treatment of patients allows achieving a stable clinical and etiological recovery in more than 96.0% of patients with a long-term course of the infectious and inflammatory process in the gums, whereas the traditional in 89.5%.
