Essay

The object of study: native and quarantine species of thrips, flower-ornamental plants indoor. The purpose is to substantiate the protection system for flower-ornamental plants indoor from native and quarantine species of thrips taking into account the biology specialties. To check the species types and identify the thrips on the flowering plants in indoor to prevent the spreading of quarantine thrips species. To study the seasonal dynamics of thrips abundance in greenhouse. To find out the places of major concentration and species types of thrips based on the phases of plant’s organogenesis in case of natural occupancy. To check the diagnostic signs of identified thrips species during the different stages of growth. To identify the hazards of various thrips species and the level of damage to flowering plants indoor. To evaluate the effectiveness of modern insecticides and biolological protection products from thrips on flowering plants. To evaluate economic efficiency of the chemical protection of flowering plants from thrips in greenhouses. To develop measures on limitation of thrips numbers and justify the use of chemical and biological products and entomophages indoor. The methods of study: laboratory – identification of thrips species; field – inspection of flowering plants for thrips occupancy, check the level of harmful influence; economic – identification of the economic efficiency for use of chemical products and bilological protection products; mathematical-statistical – evaluation of reliability of the obtained results, detection of the connections between the studied indicators. For the first time the thrips species in greenhouses of Ukraine were established on flower-ornamental plants. In case of absence in spreading of Western flower thrips, 6 types of thrips were found. It was studied the biology specialties of Gladiolus and Western flower thrips, and seasonal dynamics of their abundance due to the abiotic factors. The efficiency of modern chemical products against the major thrips species was evaluated during different application types. The economic efficiently of their use. The feasibility of usage of biological products and entomophages.
