Essay

The thesis is devoted to the development of the basic scientific and technical provisions of the new progressive technology of fast pyrolysis of biomass in the ablative screw reactor. This work analyzes the modern technologies and trends of the bio-oil production development in the world, reviews of existing pyrolysis plants, preconditions and prospects for the development of bio-oil production in Ukraine. The modern scientific positions on the mechanisms of bio-oil obtaining from biomass through fast pyrolysis are considered. According to the results of the analysis, the applied scientific tasks were formulated. This work focuses on the fast pyrolysis to obtain the maximum yield of bio-oil. This type of pyrolysis has the potential to create a reactor with a high specific capacity, reduced sizes, reduced costs, and improved process control capabilities. The choice of rational regime and construction parameters of pyrolysis plants with ablative screw type reactor, which is provided the maximum yield of liquid pyrolysis, is substantiated. A special design of the ablation reactor with a variable step of the screw turns and variable height of the channel along the screw length was developed. The work substantiates the possibility of using of bio-oil, which is obtained by the fast pyrolysis of biomass in the ablative screw type reactor, as an alternative to traditional fuels based on its specific physical and chemical properties.
