The dissertation is devoted to the solution of the scientific problem - to improve the theoretical and methodological support of the justification of the directions of modernization of the power industry of Ukraine in conditions of structural changes in the economy.
The methodical approach to the selection of priority directions of structural and technological modernization of the electric power industry of Ukraine is developed, which, unlike existing ones, is based on prediction of future electricity consumption, analysis of structural changes in the economy, calculations of power requirements by types of generation, determination of electricity generating facilities subject to modernization, and substantiation of the technologies that should be implemented on them, which makes it possible to form the main measures of the program for the modernization of the electric power industry in Ukraine. The methodical approach to assessing the conformity of structural changes in the economy and power industry of Ukraine is developed, which, unlike existing ones, is based on the classification of RED on the level of energy intensity and types of generation for their maneuverability, which allows to determine the directions of modernization in the energy sector. The methodical approach to the formation of a program for the modernization of the electric power industry in Ukraine is proposed, which, unlike existing ones based on scientifically grounded criteria, allows us to determine both the generation objects at the modernized power plants in the country and the enterprises producing energy equipment for them, which ensures the coherence of development as domestic power engineering, and power engineering. The structural-logical scheme of the comparative-evolutionary analysis of foresight forecasts of the development of both the world electric power industry and Ukraine has been improved, which includes the following blocks: determination of the share of electric power in the primary energy supply, analysis of energy efficiency of electric power generation, load of power generating capacity, specific emissions of CO2, which allows to improve the quality of expert estimation of forecasts of development of the world electric power industry and compare them with forecasts of development of power industry of Ukraine in developing its program modernization.
