The results of the study are based on the generalized data of the features of the toxocarosis epidemic process on the territory of the Zaporizhzhia region, as well as the results of the examination and dynamic monitoring of 60 children with acute respiratory failure, 35 of them are with toxocariasis infection. The research revealed a significant contamination of dogs and soil with toxocariasis and dissociation between the high number of positive results of the Ig G test and T.canis blood count of people and officially registered cases of this disease in the Zaporizhzhia region. The data on the prevalence of toxocaronal invasion among children with acute and recurrent respiratory diseases are 95.2% of children with available antibodies to T.canis have different manifestations of respiratory tract diseases. In-depth data on the influence of toxocariasis infection on the course of an acute respiratory disease, accompanied by a prolonged course and lingering cough, respiratory failure, as well as intoxication, abdominal syndromes with enlarged liver and spleen, exanthema have been given. The data on laboratory changes after toxocariasis infestation were revised: children had leukocytosis, accelerated ESR, eosinophilia, high levels of serum coccidia, fibrinogen and CRP. An imbalance between levels of inflammatory IL-1β and IL-6, as well as IL-5, was shown. It has been established that the additional inclusion of the combined drug containing silicon dioxide and lactulose into antiparasitic treatment contributes to the improvement of the general condition of the patients, accelerates the leveling of the manifestations of the respiratory system impairment, intoxication syndrome and inflammatory and allergic changes in the blood, as well as the activation of anti-toxicosis immunity.
