Mazur O. Diagnostics and treatment of chronic purulent maxillary sinusitis in patients suffering from type 1 diabetes mellitus

The thesis deals with the solving a topical scientific issue of otorhinolaryngology concerning investigation of clinical-laboratory indices of chronic purulent maxillary sinusitis (CPMS) with type 1 diabetes mellitus and improvement of the efficacy of a comprehensive treatment of patients suffering from this pathology by means of clinical-laboratory substantiation to administer multiprobiotic. 78 patients suffering from CPMS with comorbid type 1 diabetes mellitus, 20 patients with diabetes mellitus without comorbid pathology, and 10 relatively healthy individuals have been examined and treated. Microbiocenosis disorders of the nasale mucous membrane, paranasal sinuses and the colon, parameters of general immunity and signs of pronounced endogenic intoxication were found in patients suffering from CPMS and comorbid type 1 diabetes mellitus. The method of treatment with general administration of multiprobiotic is elaborated and its efficacy in a comprehensive treatment of patients suffering from CPMS and type 1 diabetes mellitus is evidenced.
