Essay

The work purpose is to develop a soil testing method for samples in laboratory and in situ conditions, which guarantees a reliable determination of the soil deformation modulus based on the direct measurements results. The general data concerning the deformation modulus are given. Brief description of the basic techniques and the drawbacks that arise during soil tests, as well as prospects for increasing the correctness of the deformation modulus determination are given. The study of the influence of loading history and magnitudes of load levels during laboratory tests of soils are given. Influence of crumbling and frictional forces on soil tests in laboratory and in situ conditions. Modern high-speed in situ methods of soil tests compared with standard laboratory test results. The tests of sandy soils of the pit bottom with in situ and laboratory methods are described. Complex tests on the depth of occurrence and in oedometer of the construction site ground base. The principles of calculating the soil basis are indicated. Calculations of foundations sedimentation using a deformation modulus obtained by counting the actual sediments of the experimental building by the help of numerical modeling. Recommendations "Determination of soil bases deformation modulus of buildings foundations and structures" are developed.
