Essay

In this thesis there was studied the activity of the Myroslav Antonovych’s Byzantine Choir and its aesthetic and stylistic fundamentals of the Ukrainian liturgical music performance in the context of a choral performance of the ancient religious music in Europe of the second half of the 20th century within the movement of historically informed performance. The performing traditions of the ancient sacred music of the Western and Eastern rites, their development in the second half of the 20th century were studied, the aesthetic principles of their formation and their core issues were examined.
