Essay

In the dissertation the actual scientific and practical task for reducing the contamination of steel by non-metallic inclusions of endogenous origin and costs of deoxidizers is solved due to the deoxidation of the melt flow by residual carbon when blowing by argon in the working space of the steel-tapping channel. On the basis of theoretical studies and experimental data on the patterns of interaction of the melt flow with argon, further development of scientific concepts and physicochemical scheme deoxidation of steel by carbon were obtained. The realization of the mechanism deoxidation by carbon is based on the formation of a developed interphase surface in the gas-metal stream, the reduction of the partial pressure of carbon and the provision of thermodynamic conditions for allow decarbonization reaction when blowing by argon of the melt flow.
