Molchanova O. Neurocognitive deficit and social functioning in patients with paranoid schizophrenia (course, diagnostics, treatment)

In dissertational work on the basis of complex clinical anamnestic, sociodemographic, psychopathological, psychodiagnostic and neuropsychological examination the data concerning peculiarities of social and cognitive functioning of patients with paranoid schizophrenia of different duration were obtained. The interaction between cognitive impairment and social functioning of patients with paranoid schizophrenia was assessed. The peculiarities of clinical psychopathological picture, structure of cognitive impairment and social functioning in patients with paranoid schizophrenia of different duration (<10 years, ≥10 years) were defined. The differential programm of cognitive remediation therapy in patients with paranoid schizophrenia was developed and implemented. The efficacy of this program in patients with different disease duration was demonstrated. Key words: paranoid schizophrenia, neurocognitive deficit, social functioning, neurocognitive remediation.
