Essay

The thesis is devoted to deepening of theoretical, conceptual, and organizational bases for the development of social and economic responsibility of agricultural enterprises, substantiating and working out practical recommendations for stimulating active participation of economic entities in solving problems in rural areas and ensuring the welfare of their inhabitants. The essence and functions of the social orientation of the agrarian economy have been determined, and regulation bases of social and economic responsibility in the agrarian sphere have been specified. Due to critical evaluation of the world experience and the peculiarities of the European model of social and economic responsibility of business, norms in international standards and other legal documents that can be adopted in Ukraine were defined. The aforementioned norms will stimulate development and implementation of corporate social responsibility strategies by entities in the agrarian sphere. Organizational and legal features of the social and economic activities of agrarian entities have been studied and the social component of their activities has been analyzed. It has been estimated an effectiveness of the agrarian enterprises’ influence on the social and economic development of rural communities, and directions for their social and economic reorientation have been justified. Scientific approaches to selection and use of tools and mechanisms for enhancement the social and economic responsibility of agrarian entities have been highlighted. Based on the research results, a social orientation model of agrarian entities has been developed.
