The influence of the axial ligands on the structural parameters of 15-MС-5 with encapsulated metal ions with different ionic radii (Ca(II), Pb(II), Ln(ΙΙΙ)) has been systematically studied and analyzed. It was shown, that the nature and type of axial ligands has the dominant influence on the conformation of the metallamacrocycle and the deviation of the encapsulated ion from MC plane. The reactivity of copper(II) 12-MC-4 with PicHA was investigated. It was shown that, in pyridine 12-MC-4 rearranged into 18-MC-6 structure. In methanol/MTBE the same pentanuclear 12-MC-4 underwent transformation to decanuclear discrete compound. The hydroxamate based 15-MC-5 and 18-MC-6 with cobalt((II/III) ions as a peripheral metals were synthesized and structurally characterized for the first time. The interaction of cobalt(II) salts with QuinHA in methanol/DMF/pyridine leads to the formation of heterovalent Co(II/III) 15-MC-5 complexes, while 18-MC-6 with PicHA and Co(III) ions as a ring metals was obtained from methanol/pyridine. The studies of interaction between copper(II) 12-MC-4 with QuinHA and G4 (DNA) “in vitro” proved the formation of supramolecular associates “G4-MC”.
