Essay

The thesis focuses on verbalizing objectivity and subjectivity effects in English Internet news discourse from cognitive rhetorical perspective. The paper reveals that in the discourse under study objectivity and subjectivity effects are implemented on the levels of nomination and disposition. From the nominative perspective the objectivity effect is evoked by the units denoting non-ambiguity, accuracy and neutrality while the subjectivity effect is triggered by units designating ambiguity, approximation and appeal to the rhetoric means of influence.
