The dissertation is devoted to increasing the effectiveness of treatment of generalized periodontitis of the I-II degree in elderly and old people by identifying the features of their dental status, optimizing the treatment of this disease by using a complex of vitamins with antioxidants and nanosilver and improving the organization of therapeutic and prophylactic measures in patients given age category. In patients with generalized periodontitis, age features of the oxidizing-reducing properties of the oral fluid, quantitative and qualitative composition of the biotope of periodontal pockets have been identified. The pathogenetically grounded schemes of treatment and prophylactic measures in the elderly and the elderly based on the interdisciplinary approach have shown a high clinical efficacy, which is confirmed by the improvement of objective periodontal and hygienic indices and the results of biochemical and microbiological research in different terms of observation.
