In the thesis a study was conducted of the administrative and legal support of volunteer activities in Ukraine. The historical aspect of legal support of volunteering in Ukraine is analyzed, the stages of this process are highlighted and justified. The following concepts were analyzed: “volunteer”, “volunteer activity”, “charitable activity”. The content of volunteering as an object of administrative and legal support is disclosed. The directions and types of activities of volunteer organizations are defined. Functions and principles of volunteer activities. The essence of the state policy in the analyzed field of activity is established. The authorities of the entities that provide administrative and legal support for the provision of volunteer assistance are defined. The factors affecting the legal support of volunteers are indicated. The ways of improving the mechanism of administrative and legal support of volunteering activities are indicated and their development prospects are indicated.
