Essay

The thesis focuses on the study of the UN image formation due to the lingual means used in modern English media discourse. It reveals the essence of image, appearance and image correlation. It is determined that the United Nations image belongs to the corporative image type which is formed by means of verbal, visual, audio and visual instruments as a result of image makers activity targeted at a mass audience. The media discourse refers to the UN image construction environment providing interrelation and mutual understanding of the organization and target audience to exchange breaking news that causes social interest. The media-discourse is an integral part of image construction and serves as a uniting element of the UN and target audience transmitting information on mass audience that provides a social opinion in respect to the United Nations activity.
