Essay

The preparation of the Thesis was carried out at the Open International University of Human Development «Ukraine». The defense of the Thesis will be held at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. The Thesis is devoted to a comprehensive study of the theoretical, legal and applied problems of the participation of a secondary judge in the judicial proceedings of Ukraine. The present state and methodological principles of scientific research of the status of a reserve judge in the criminal proceedings of Ukraine were outlined; the foreign experience of appointment of a reserve judge in criminal proceedings has been researched; the guarantees of the powers of the reserve judge were characterized, the grounds and procedural order of his appointment were clarified; the content of the powers of the reserve judge, the consequences of his appointment and the particulars of the judge's assessment of the evidence in the criminal proceedings were determined. In general, the dissertation solves the scientific task of developing theoretical foundations, legal and practical recommendations aimed at improving the legal status of a secondary judge in the proceedings of Ukraine, formulates conclusions, suggestions and recommendations that meet the requirements of scientific novelty.
