The purpose, tasks and functions of work of police officers are investigated. The content of each of these elements is characterized. The theoretical and practical problems of legal regulation of labor activity of police officers are considered. The substantiated directions of their solution are highlighted with clear legislative wording. The proposals on borrowing positive foreign experience in the legal regulation of labor activities of police officers are named.
