Karchynskyi O. Diagnosis and assessment of the effectiveness of treatment of patients with acute paranasal sinusitis through the using remote infrared thermography

The thesis is devoted to improve the efficiency of diagnosis and assessment of treatment of acute rhinosinusitis based on the application developed technique of thermographic study of the paranasal sinuses (except posterior group). The analysis of the study data of 197 patients with acute rhinosinusitis and 105 healthy individuals (control group) was conducted for the period from 2015 to 2016. The systematic, digital thermographic data base of the acute inflammatory lesions of the paranasal sinuses (except posterior group of sinuses) was developed. It was revealed that the local temperature in men and women with age is reduced, and thermometric, thermographic data of normal paranasal sinuses, based on the results, can be used as a criterion for assessing the development and course of acute inflammation in that area. While interpreting the thermographic picture in acute viral, post-viral and bacterial rhinosinusitis, an increase in temperature indices was revealed over the projection of the pathological process, but no statistical significance was established between men, women and pregnant women. The inclusion the irrigation therapy to common treatment schemes of acute rhinosinusitis positive impacts on the dynamics of the flow of the common symptoms of the disease and has a positive effect on the recovery of patients.
