Donii T. Archetypes and toposes in postmodern poetry of Ukraine and the USA.

The dissertation is devoted to the analysis of archetypes in postmodern poetry of Ukraine and USA. The literary-critical works on the genesis of the term "archetype" are outlined. Also it is motivated the usage of a number of methods and techniques, The research presents detailed comparative analysis of image system of main archetypes according to the K. Jung classification, paying particular attention to their similarities and differences. The idea of the typological similarity of the archetypes’ figurative system in the postmodern poetry of both countries is substantiated. Such a comparative analysis, taking into considertion modern approaches, proves the formal similarity and meaningful diversity of archetypal and topos system in postmodern Ukrainian and American poetry. In addition, this analysis allows to express assumptions about the similarity of the archetypes actualization, despite the chronological differences between the beginning of postmodernism in Ukraine and the USA, which depend on different historical circumstances and differences in mentality.
