The author of the dissertation has elaborated theoretical and applied principles of the realization of an expert initiative within criminal proceedings. The author has generalized scientific ideas about the genesis of the development of an expert initiative’s phenomenon since its emergence together with the institution of special knowledge in criminal proceedings up to the current state of normative and legal regulation and practical implementation. The author has formulated own comprehensive idea of the essence of an expert initiative as a scientific category and a specific direction of practical activity of specialized expert institutions and individual court experts.
