The dissertation is devoted to the complex study of the legal, theoretical and organizational tactical principles of forensic skills of investigation on the fact of committing serious bodily injuries that caused the death of the victim, taking into account the normative provisions of the current criminal procedural legislation. The genesis of scientific research is shown. Through the analysis of scientific sources, questioning of employees of the National Police of Ukraine, the study of forensic practice, the structure of forensic characteristics is developed, and the modus operandi, crime scene and traces of such crimes are outlined. The problems of the commence pre-trial investigation on the fact of committing serious bodily injuries that caused the death of the victim are considered. The typical investigative situations and the main directions of investigation are identified.
