The dissertation presents a new solution to the scientific problem concerning the updating of theoretical and practical principles of the Institute of administrative and legal relations. The concept of a scientific category of administrative-legal relations is defined. The classification of administrative-legal relations according to the criterion of the administrative and legal status (competence) of the subjects of public administration is carried out. The legal nature of administrative-legal relations is revealed, which is based on philosophical, legal and special legal factors. The administrative-legal status of subjects of administrative-legal relations is determined. The content of administrative-legal relations as the institute of administrative law of Ukraine is revealed. The scientific understanding of administrative-legal relations has been improved.
