The dissertation provides a new solution for the scientific problem related to the current management of the potential of the transport companies' competitiveness through the substantiation of theoretical and methodological sources and the provision of practical recommendations on the use of the organizational and economic mechanism for managing the competitiveness potential of the transport enterprise, according to which the object of management should be the whole system of elements of the competitiveness potential, which is based on the combination of external and internal components of the transport development environment the enterprise in the system of management, resource, methodological and target influences, and provides: the enterprise management on a strategic basis, the implementation of sectoral principles and system-forming properties in the processes of managing the elemental structure of the enterprise's competitiveness potential by: performing the main economic functions aimed at the development of capacity potential competitiveness by improving goodwill, asset value and competitive position; the use of innovative economic and organizational methods of management and evaluation of the effectiveness of enterprise development, the synergistic effect of the systematic use of all resources and capabilities of the enterprise. The conceptual apparatus for managing the potential of the competitiveness of transport enterprises, in particular the content of the concepts of "competitiveness potential", "management of the potential of competitiveness of the enterprise," is analyzed and specified. The periodization of the evolution of the essence of the "potential" is carried out, the main features of the evolutionary periods are defined: Stage 1 - "productive force" (1920-1970); Stage 2 - "material resource" (1970-1990); Stage 3 - "resource efficiency in the system" (1990-2000); Stage 4 - "Economic Opportunities" (since 2001). The structure of the potential of the competitiveness of transport enterprises through the allocation of internal and external components, on the basis of which is substantiated: the system of internal and external factors for ensuring the formation, increase and implementation of the competitiveness potential in the market of transport services and proposed factors for ensuring the efficiency of management of the competitiveness potential is classified by: sources of education, influence on components, control processes. The exploration of the resource potential of competitiveness on the example of the transport company Express-T showed the need to expand the database of input data, supplement external factors and risks that were not investigated in the assessment of resource support and were not taken into account in the management of the enterprise in the implementation of the current management, because it did not allow to assess the full potential of the enterprise, and it is extremely important in determining the strategic principles for further development of the enterprise. The system of internal and external factors, structure of the potential of competitiveness of transport enterprises is formulated and substantiated. The common methods of identifying reserves for the development of competitiveness potential are identified and characterized. The conceptual provisions of improving the evaluation of the cost of the competitiveness potential, the type of development of the competitiveness potential of the transport company on the value approach are formulated.
