Purpose: comprehensive analysis of the development of domestic trade in consumer goods and services, the identification of the role of trade in the development of tourist clusters. Methods: scientific abstraction, analysis and synthesis, structuring and systematization, clustering, SWOT analysis, analytical and graphical methods. It is offered: conceptual model of system evaluation of the state of development of trade as an element of a tourist cluster; Improved: author's approach to the definition of the structural scheme of the tourism system; systematization of the hierarchy of methods for assessing competitiveness; Determining the relationship between the strategic goal and the objectives of the development of trade enterprises taking into account the interests of other participants in the tourist cluster.
