Essay

The dissertation analyzes the Personalism of Gregory of Nyssa in the context of Patristic Studies; explores the sources and genesis of his ideas. Also, the research shows how the theology of the Cappadocian Church Father is perceived in theology and philosophy of religion of the twenty-first century. In the dissertation it is presented that the Personalism of Gregory of Nyssa, through his doctrine of the Trinity and the theological anthropology derived from him, can directly or indirectly serve as a source for finding answers and comprehending himself as a component of contemporary post-Christian discourse in theology and philosophy. It was analyzed: that the genesis of the Transfiguration Theology of the Proto-Gosspel Narrative, which formed the basis of several New Testament narratives, influenced the teachings of Gregory of Nyssa through the prism of the development of the doctrine of tTansfiguration in the writings of the Church Fathers, preceding and influencing the Cappadocian theologian, forming his anthropological and theological Personalism; the "Christian turn" in Neo-Platonism, carried out by Gregory of Nissa, and "theological turn" in Phenomenology under the auspices of J.-L. Marion. It has been established that the "Third reduction" and the concept of donation in Phenomenology on one hand, and the doctrine of epektasis and apophatic "entering into the darkness" in the theology of Gregory of Nyssa, on the other hand, have become ways of overcoming metaphysical discourse in Christian theology. It is represented that contemporary theoesthetivs, with its critique of rationalistic ontotheological systems as those that can't adequately reflect theological discourse, draw inspiration and ideas for its theological constructs or "non-structures" precisely in the theology of Gregory of Nyssa.
