The research focuses on the comprehensive study of prosodic parameters of imperative utterances that operate in lecture and preaching discourses. Speech material analysis resulted in its systematization according to such lingual and extralingual factors causing the specific imperative utterances functioning in the preaching and lecture discourse: explicitness / implicitness, syntactic structure, communicative and pragmatic focus, the imperative addressiveness and the utterance localization in the compositional structure of the lecture / sermon text.
