In this thesis, a comprehensive analysis of the royal universales of the last third of the seventeenth century, which was addressed to the citizans of the Rus palatinate, was carried out. The basic characteristics of a universal as a document of the Crown Chancery were singled out. The information content of the monarch universales which contained rather detailed information about the state, local or private affairs of the state was described. In addition, these documents also contained a significant ideological component, the purpose of which was to propagate ideals and values that the authorities needed. The royal universales were written in Polish and signed by the king, clerks, as well as by the seals of the Crown Chancery. Those documents which were issued on the initiative of the authorities, were centrally sent to the grod local governments. The latter had to not only copy the universals in their acts, but also to actively spread the information from them. It was done by sending copies of the document and announcing its content in public places.
