This thesis work summarizes the results of the research and a new approach to the early diagnosis and treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease with concomitant obesity in young people by examining and establishing a link between levels of adipokines, blood lipid profile, indicators of oxidative stress, motor-evacuation disorders and the study of their influence on the formation of psychosomatic disorders and quality of life. The overall understanding of the clinical features, indicators of psychosomatic disorders and quality of life associated with GERD and concomitant obesity in young people were studied through the use of appropriate questionnaires. Non-invasive studies of motor-evacuation disorders of the esophagus and stomach functions and features of the distribution of adipose tissue in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease with concomitant obesity and without comorbidity were proposed in the study. The levels of adipokines (adiponectin and visfatin), blood lipid profile and features of oxidative stress in patients with GERD and concomitant obesity (by the levels of TBA-active products, superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase) were monitored throughout the study depending on the treatment. The combination of classical therapy of GERD and supplementary prescription of melatonin was effective in the complex treatment of GERD with concomitant obesity in young people.
