Bodnar L. Improvement of the design of repairs in operation of road bridges

The study is aimed at improving the design of bridge repairs. Mathematical models and a repair strategy justification mechanism of road bridges according to the criteria of minimizing the weighted average over the area and priorities of bridges of the level of their degradation and the cost of operational measures with restrictions on the parameters of degradation and annual funding have been developed. A criterion is proposed for the feasibility of repairing or reconstructing a bridge that is inoperative compared to closing it and replacing it with a new one. The software package for the Analytical Expert System for Bridge Management includes a module for substantiating the strategy of repairing bridges and an engineering methodology for its use is developed.
