Polishchuck Y. Myron Korduba as a Historiographer, Archeologist and Source Scholar

In the dissertation, a comprehensive study of Myron Korduba’s historiographical and source-study and archaeological activity in the context of the historical science development in Ukraine in the late ХІХ - early ХХ centuries is carried out; the place of the scholar in the Ukrainian historiography of the ХХ century is determined. The analysis of M. Korduba’s scientific activity determined that a significant part of his creative work was made by historiographical studios. It was found out that in the research laboratory of the Galician historian as a science researcher, the conceptual, personalized and institutional approaches were dialectically combined. It is proved that historiographic activity of M. Korduba is directly related to his archeographical work. Its features are revealed: the scientist is equally obliged to Lviv Ukrainian studies and Vienna sources study centers for his archeographic education. It has been found out that this led to a certain modernization of the methods of publishing documents accepted by Ukrainian archaeologists (first of all, the refusal of the formalistic transmission of the texts).
