The work presents a study of theoretical and practical aspects of legal regulation issues related to the compulsory state social insurance against an accident at work and occupational disease. It describes the essence of the concept and principles of social insurance against an accident at work and occupational disease. This dissertation determines the legal status of its subjects and studies the notion of an accident at work and occupational disease. It also outlines peculiarities of providing certain types of insurance payments. As a result of the theoretical research, the dissertation formulates proposals for amending the present legislation, which will improve the legal regulation of the compulsory state social insurance against an accident at work and occupational disease.
