Levchuk O. Newspaper periodicals of Kyiv as the source of the research of city everyday life (1905-1914)

The dissertation is devoted to the complex critical analysis of information resources of Kyiv newspaper editions 1905-1914 about city everyday life. On the basis of systems approach, Kyiv newspapers in 1905–1907 are analyzed in the paper as an important social and informational component of the public relations of that time. In addition, the newspaper is considered as a complex system with own internal structure, methods and forms of distribution of the published material within a separate publication are analyzed. The paper discusses the historical conditions of development of the periodical press of the city during the researched period, shows a quantitative, problematic and thematic range of Kyiv newspapers, reveals genre features of their reproduction of city everyday life, reflects the basic forms and directions in newspaper texts of everyday life of Kyiv residents. The attention of researchers is drawn to the newspaper periodical press as the important source from the history of city everyday life. The scientific circulation introduces a large array of the concrete historical information that supplements the well-known facts from Kyiv everyday life in 1905-1914 with new material and reveals the content basic segments of city routine from different points of contemplation. The system analysis and structuring of the selected newspaper texts are carried out. Informative opportunities of newspaper materials for studying historical conditions and rules of the city everyday life organization, mechanisms of administrative regulation of Kyiv everyday life are investigated. The value of information resources of newspapers for the research of ethno-political, legal, economic, social and cultural realities of Kyiv routine are shown.
