Dukach Y. The protest field structure of social movements in Ukraine.

The dissertation is devoted to the development of a theoretical and methodological approach to the study of the protest field structure of social movements and the algorithm for identifying and researching the network of interorganizational protest interaction. This study is based on monitoring data on protests, repressions and concessions “Ukrainian Protest and Coercion Data” for the period of 2011-2013. During the study was developed the method for modeling and studying the structure of the protest field of social movements. In the study was used the concept of the protest field as a structural space of relations with a significant weight of social capital, which appears and grows as a result of interorganizational interactions during protest activity. The hidden structure of protest activity of organizations was revealed through the disclosure of their interaction network, built on the organizational co-participation in registered protests. Was made theoretical generalizations of the foundations of the network approach for the study of social movements.
