The research of methods and models of localization of digital image on construction objects and their peculiarities in relation to the quality characteristics of the image on the basis of contrast is carried out. Investigations of cases of uncertainty in the identification of elements of the crack on DIKTD and the distribution of accompanying defects on the elements of the crack. The mechanism of occurrence of ambiguity, as such, in the process of crack localization and its identification with the consideration of the uncertainty of the dislocation of the crack skeleton points and determination of the direction of its development, as well as the presence of a single direction of development, is determined and investigated. Due to the introduction of the notion of loading pixel of the image, the study of the topology of the defect such as "hair split" has been carried out. The analysis and construction of cracking grids adjacent to the sign-forming elements of the "crack" type defect with the use of the channel of digital image brightness in the digital space of GrayScale and the method of constructing the color atlases in the image of a "crack" type defect is carried out. An analysis of the dislocation of linear objects of corresponding cracks in the image of a "crack" type defect in the color space has been carried out. On the basis of the analysis it was determined that the use of contrast-based methods for the KTD image in real conditions is justified. The method of locating a "crack" type defect on the digital images of const1ruction objects based on contrast is proposed.
