Substantiation of parameters of the combined digger of root crops chicory. – Manuscript copyright. Dissertation for degree of Ph.D. in Technology by specialty 05.05.11 – machines and Ways of Mechanization in the Agricultural Industry. – Ternopil Ivan Puluj National Technical University, Ternopil, 2019. The dissertation is devoted to solving the scientific problem of raising the quality indices of harvesting roots of chicory. This is achieved by substantiating the rational parameters of a combined digger. Combined digger is made as a one-way spherical disk. The disk is set at an angle of attack to the axial line of the row of root crops. A horizontal drive shaft is installed above the disk, across the direction of the digger's movement. At the sections of the shaft, the cleaning elastic elements are installed. A rotary trowel is installed behind the disc. The rustler is made in the form of an arrow leg or a bit. The depth of the rutter is adequate to the depth of the root crops chicory in the soil environment. The rig distributor is mounted on a vibration elastic suspension. On the basis of the conducted complex of theoretical and experimental researches the basic rational parameters of working bodies of the combined digger were grounded. Research results are used by design and development organizations in the process of developing machines for harvesting roots. Constructive novelty of the technical solution is protected by 2 patents of Ukraine on utility models. Key words: spherical disk, drive shaft, splitter, digging power, root losses coefficient, disk diameter, rotor speed, quality performance indicators.
