Shulha Y. The initial phase of investigating home break-in robberies

This thesis is devoted to a criminological study of the initial phase of investigating home break-in robberies; in particular, it offers a criminological characterization of home break-in robberies, describes specifics of organizational tactical principles of the initial phase of investigating home break-in robberies, certain open investigative actions and covert investigative actions, and the use of special knowledge when investigating crimes of this category. In view of the recent legislative changes, in particular, the adoption of a revised Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine in 2012, and considering that no comprehensive scientific study of the problems concerning investigation of home break-in robberies (in particular, the initial phase of this investigation) has been performed at monographic level after the revised Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine was adopted in 2012, the author deems it necessary to generalize the existing approaches and define the standard investigative situations, criminological versions and the system of tactical operations in the initial phase of robbery investigation.
