The work contains comprehensive study of execution of operational units of the orders issued by the investigator, prosecutor on performance of covert investigative (search) actions. The stages of execution are identified and their characteristics are given. Procedure of involving individuals in performance of covert investigative (search) actions as well as aspects of procedural implementation of means used during these actions is reviewed. The author analyses certain problematic issues of performing covert investigative (search) actions by operational units under current conditions of crime counteraction.
