Essay

The dissertation is devoted to the comprehensive study of the principles of lawyer activity in Ukraine. The latter is proposed to be defined in two senses broadly and narrowly: in the first meaning it includes external and internal organizational activity, and in the second it is connected with the legal definition of this category and concerns the provision of legal aid. The analysis of the theoretical positions of the essence of legal principles and principles of law has allowed to formulate signs and definitions of the concept of "principles of lawyer activity", to determine their forms, sources and to organize their systematization. On the basis of which the general, interdisciplinary and organizational-functional principles of advocacy were allocated, their characteristics were given and the content was clarified. International standards for advocacy have been investigated on the basis of the functioning of the Bar Association, Belgium, Great Britain, Greece, Spain, Italy, the United States, France, Switzerland, Sweden and Japan. On the basis of which some ways of perfection of the administrative legislation, defining the basic principles of advocacy in Ukraine are proposed.
