Drozd V. Investigation of theft from vehicles

The thesis is considered to be a comprehensive research of the theoretical and organizational tactical principles of investigation of thefts from vehicles with reference to the normative provisions of the current criminal procedural law, the theory of forensic science and the needs of the practice. In particular, the ways of committing such type of crime are determined, the classification of theft from vehicles is proposed, and the trace picture of such crimes is described. The material traces of theft from vehicles are proposed to be divided into certain groups, as well as forensic characteristics of the criminal are formed. The typical investigation situations and versions of the initial stage of the investigation are defined; the list of initial investigative (search) actions and other measures aimed at their solution are provided. The types and the forms of interaction between investigators and the employees of the National Police are outlined. Organizational and tactical features of the inspection of the scene of the crime, of the interrogation, of the search, of the identification of things, of the verification are determined. Recommendations on the main forms of using special knowledge during the investigation are provided.
