A historical and legal analysis of the formation and development of legal regulation of the protection of the rights of the child in Ukraine has been carried out. An assessment of the current state of ensuring the rights and freedoms of the child in Ukraine has been provided. The system of subjects of ensuring the rights and freedoms of the child in Ukraine has been explored, as well as the place of the National Police among these subjects has been determined. The legal and regulatory framework for the activities of the National Police in the area of ensuring the rights and freedoms of the child has been characterized. The principles of the activities of the National Police in the area of ensuring the rights and freedoms of the child have been defined. The characteristics and methods of the activities of the National Police in the area of ensuring the rights and freedoms of the child have been systematized and provided. The problem of interaction of the National Police with the public and the public authorities in the area of ensuring the rights and freedoms of a child has been investigated. The foreign experience of ensuring the rights and freedoms of a child in the activities of the police has been generalized and the possibility of its using in Ukraine has been determined. The problems of implementation of international norms and standards in the area of ensuring the rights and freedoms of children by the authorities of the National Police of Ukraine have been clarified.
