Kyrychenko M. East Slavic Severians (VIII-XI centuries) in sources and historiography

The object of the research: a complex of historical and historiographical sources on the history of the Severians. The purpose of the research: to investigate the interpretation of information of sources from the history of the Severians in historiography and to distinguish the historiographical traditions, within which the ideas about the history of the Severians were formed. The methods: periodization, retrospective, chronological, problematic, historical deconstruction. Scientific novelty: classification of historiographical sources on the history of Severians has been developed; the historiographical traditions, established in the scientific literature on the history of the Severians, have been identified; the interpretative potential of a set of written sources from the history of Severians has been identified and determined; the history of formation of the source base has been reconstructed; information potential of written and material sources on the problem has been disclosed; the history of the archaeological development of the Severians past has been researched and covered. Practical value of research: the materials of the research can be used in teaching courses on the history of Ukraine, the history of the Eastern Slavs, historiography, studies of the source, local history, etc. Sphere of use: educational process.
