Essay

Thesis is a research of musical stylistic features of Byzantine-Slavic church chants on the example of Transfigration stichera idiomela. The evolution of Ukrainian liturgical singing, which has passed centuriesold way of self-awareness and self-expression is highlighted. This is observed in the variety of music material recorded in a large number of annotated collections with the help of adapted note systems (kulyzmyanа and linear notation).
